Kobby Okum’s Ghana Impact Project is ‘giving the gift of mobility one child at a time’

About 26 physically challenged children in Ghana will be provided with prosthetics thanks to a fundraising gala held at the River Creek Club in Leesburg, Virginia (VA) and coordinated by the Ghana Impact Project (GIP), a Ghanaian nonprofit organization with a US presence.

Themed “Gift of Mobility Gala,” the event held on April 14, 2023, was attended by almost a hundred people and had Her Excellency (HE) Alima Mahama, Ghana’s Ambassador to the U.S. as its special Guest Speaker.

The first event was to commemorate and support efforts to provide Ghana’s physically challenged children with the gift of mobility.

The proceeds would only be utilized for other charitable causes, such as the advocacy of people with disabilities. Kobby Okum, the president of GIP, expressed his extreme gratitude for all of the love and support shown by those who attended the event by making donations and promises.

GIP’s mission is to support groups of largely forgotten physically challenged individuals in Ghana through the provision of much-needed resources (medical, physical, educational, psychological, etc.) as a way of offering them opportunities to integrate into society.
